- The Human Growth Hormone

The recent studies on Human Growth Hormone (HGH) have caused quite a stir in the scientific community. HGH is one of the most abundant hormones secreted by the pituitary gland; it is at its highest during adolescence and sharply declines with age. As the pituitary gland produces less and less HGH, the symptoms of age-related problems increase. Over the last few years research has begin to suggest that almost everything associated with aging may be due in part to the decline of Human Growth Hormone production.

HGH is said to affect and regenerate every cell in your body, including your skin and bones. Just to name a few of the many suggested benefits, it is reported to improve vision, memory and retention, revitalize your immune system, give increased energy, increase fat burning and muscle building, smooth wrinkles and improve skin texture and tone, significantly lower your risk factors for heart attack and stroke, and prevent loss of bone density.

Some have touted it as the "fountain of youth". While this may or may not turn out be the all-in-all some researchers expect, there is evidence that HGH may at least go a long way toward slowing the aging process down.

There are a number of amino acids (the building blocks of proteins) that have been shown to be involved in the process of stimulating the pituitary gland to produce more HGH and, therefore, replace some of these hormones that nature takes away as we age. Among these are arginine, glutamine, ornithine, tyrosine, and glycine.
